Debt Capital Markets 40%

The nature of capital markets provision.
End-to-end management of delivery proposals – through internal and group governance.
Lead collaborations with transaction advisors and partners towards successful delivery on the best possible terms.
Lead engagements with relevant regulators to obtain support and approval
Work in collaboration and coordination with ALM, Capital Management and Liquidity Management functions.
In partnership with service provider teams, drive scope for appetite, market intelligence and investor engagement.
In collaboration with Marketing, prepare advertising and promotion materials.
Investment Banking Partner in providing protection, registration and other transaction advisory services.
Research and analyze information on debt issuance activity in various markets to identify lessons and opportunities.
Always ensure compliance with listing requirements and other applicable capital market rules and regulations.
Be an active participant in the innovation, expansion and development of Tanzania’s capital market.
Other duties related to capital markets as assigned by the Head of Treasury.

ESG 40%

Identify and raise ESG funds to support qualifying projects
Work collaboratively with internal and group stakeholders to develop systems, policies, standards and guidelines that guide ESG funds.
Work with various partners and stakeholders to develop bank-wide understanding of ESG and applicable regulatory compliance
ESG stakeholder mapping
Increasing bilateral ESG funds
In conjunction with coverage, develop a pipeline of ESG-compliant clients, projects and assets for funding.
In conjunction with coverage, monitor the performance of sustainable projects, provide regular reports on the use of income and impact.
Initiate ESG securities, lead in successful issuance and ensure compliance with the use of proceeds
Lead engagements with consultants, second opinion providers and compliance/guideline verification.
Grant management
Develop flow/process maps on ESG products

Long Term Funds 5%

In collaboration with ALM, Liquidity Management, Capital Management, Finance and Business Units monitor and review the bank’s medium and long-term financing needs and prepare financing plans.
To collect domestic and foreign funds from local and foreign lenders in the best possible way.
Regularly review existing liabilities and other funds on the balance sheet to ensure that the cost of funds meets the bank’s expectations.
Investigate and implement steps/options to recover/redeem financing that is not competitively priced.
Work with services to ensure Lender KYC, DD, NDA and other documents are done as per requirements.
Continue to accelerate the increase in the number, size and terms of loans/borrowing that local and international banks have allocated to NBC.
Identify new sources of financing to change the balance sheet and drive negotiations, including pricing and covenants.
Be a coverage partner in relation to investors and lender relationship management.
Contribute to the bank’s overall strategy and support long-term inter-company financing plans

Other Duties

Be a part and team player in ALM, Liquidity Management and Capital Management.
On an ad hoc basis, be flexible and willing to take on other Finance and Treasury related responsibilities.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Treasury.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
Recommended Features

CISI and CMSA certification
ESG-related certification
Other Capital Markets or Investment Certificate
Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years experience in Debt Capital Markets or related practice with some exposure to Fund performance.
In-depth understanding of global financial markets, financial instruments and capital structures.
Excellent knowledge of global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) trends, challenges and opportunities
Know the corporate debt markets and instruments.
Experience Preferred

Transaction consulting experience
Underwriting and Listing Experience
ESG Finance Experience
Extensive experience of the fundamentals of financial markets
Proven track record in client advisory on DCM and ESG / Sustainable Finance topics.
Knowledge and Skills required

•Knowledge of ESG and especially sustainable financial issues.

• Project Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, particularly in areas related to finance and capital markets initiatives.

•Ability to plan, coordinate and implement multiple plans at the same time.

•Knowledge of Tanzania’s regulatory system related to capital markets and ESG
