Its well-located warehouse area includes 9 acres of asphalt yard; capable of storing 3800 Twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUS) stacked 5 high. Job Title: Head of Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary: • Lead and manage the plant’s mechanical department.

Supervise the maintenance, operation, and improvement of various machines and equipment including lifting equipment, forklifts, bobcats, container lifting equipment, excavators, graders, and shovels.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operating standards.
Key Responsibilities: • Leadership and Management:

Manage and coordinate the activities of the machinery and equipment team.
Develop and implement departmental strategies and goals.
Monitor performance and provide training and support to team members.
Maintenance and Operation:
Manage the regular maintenance schedules of all machines and equipment.
Ensure timely maintenance and minimal downtime of equipment.
Perform inspections and manage upgrades or replacements as needed.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure all machines comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Develop and implement security procedures and protocols. o Conduct security audits and address any compliance issues.

Resource Management:
Manage budgets related to maintenance and purchase of machinery. o Coordinate with suppliers and vendors of parts and equipment.
Optimize resource allocation to improve work efficiency.
Project Management:
Plan and manage projects involving machine upgrades or new installations.
Collaborate with other departments to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Reporting and Storage:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and inspections. o Prepare and submit reports on machine performance and departmental activities.
Characteristics:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Diploma in plant equipment or related discipline (preferred).
Proven 5+ years of experience in managing plant machinery and equipment.
Experience using lifting equipment, forklifts, bobcats, container lifts, excavators, graders and shovels. o Strong leadership and team management skills.
Thorough knowledge of machine maintenance and safety principles. o Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Knowledge of machine management software and tools. o Appropriate certifications in machine maintenance and safety (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are a plus.
