Sightsavers is looking for an experienced Data Analyst with International Development program experience to produce corporate technical reports and dashboards, provide support to colleagues and analyze program data. This is an exciting time to join DART’s Sightsaver team, as the organization undergoes a digital transformation in data analytics.

Location: Lusaka Zambia, Nwoya Uganda, Dar es Salaam Tanzania, Nairobi Kenya, Bamako Mali, Freetown Sierra Leone or Abuja Nigeria
Contract: 24 months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: This is a full-time role with flexibility in working hours

About the role

Sightsavers is looking for a Data Analyst with International Development program experience and who has worked with integrated data and DHIS2. You will be providing meaningful information, delivering reports and dashboards to deadlines, providing training and support to your colleagues in a global organization. This is a technical role and someone with experience of Sightsavers’ key subject areas of eye health, education, social inclusion and NTDs will be of particular interest.

Some important responsibilities include:

  1. Support the development and production of dashboards and quarterly and annual data reports and data reports, using Power BI, Excel and DHIS2 methods, for distribution across the organization.
  2. Conduct data analysis on Sightsavers projects
  3. Strengthen country office data reporting systems
  4. Work with country offices to plan and improve project data flow.

Experience and skills relevant to this role:

  • Graduate-level qualification or equivalent work-based experience in statistics, information systems, international development, public health or any other with a statistical/analytical component.
  • Proven track record of working with organizational data management systems and applying data analysis/statistical techniques to data (within health, education, international development or other fields directly related to Sightsavers’ thematic portfolio) .
  • Practical experience with good data quality and data cleaning practices to prepare data sets for use in analytical software.
  • Experience building capacity and supporting staff in different contexts (face-to-face, online) to deliver organizational data collection to deadlines.
  • Understanding of international development issues and commitment to equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • DHIS2 practical experience for data collection, reporting and visualization
  • Experience with digital transformation, implementing new software/tools/working practices within the organization.
  • Proficiency in the use of Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization software.
  • Experience using Power Query for extracting, transforming, loading and integrating data from different data sources.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and ensure different concerns and priorities are managed effectively.
  • Fluent in English, experienced in writing reports and summaries in English
  • Experience and skills required:
  • Master’s degree in international development, international relations, geography, statistics or equivalent.

Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese
