1.0. Summary

The Tanzania Coffee Board is a government body established by the Coffee Industry Act No. 23 of 2001 and the Other Amendment Act of 2009. On behalf of the Mbozi Coffee Curing Company Limited, the Board invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals. and encourage Tanzanians to fill immediately the vacant position of General Manager at Mbozi Coffee Curing Company Limited.

1.1. Qualifications and Experience

Master’s Degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Law, Business Administration, or equivalent qualifications.
At least ten (10) years experience in a senior management position, and four (4) years in the coffee management sector.

1.2. Duties and Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to manage, plan, and coordinate the company’s activities, with the following special responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring effective management and overall management of the company’s activities.
    Managing the planning and implementation of development activities.
  2. Directing the development of policy recommendations to be considered by the Board in relation to the physical and financial functions of the company.
  3. Interpret the policies set by the Board and provide internal regulations and procedural instructions.
  4. Prepare the company’s annual budgets and submit them to the Board for approval.
  5. Periodically review actual performance against plans, budgets and standards, and submit reports to the Board detailing performance along with recommendations for actions needed to correct adverse variances.
  6. Establishing the duties of immediate assistants and delegating the necessary authority for them to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.
  7. Make recommendations to the Board regarding the staffing levels required by the company and ensure effective policies and procedures are established for the management of human resources at all levels.
  8. Ensuring that the company’s activities are in line with the laws and regulations in the country.
  9. Connecting companies and stakeholders in the coffee industry.
  10. Act as the final authority for management decisions within the company.
  11. To protect the financial condition of the company and ensure that it fulfills its financial obligations.
  12. Ensuring that all financial transactions of the company are authorized and controlled in accordance with agreed procedures and that appropriate internal control systems are maintained.
  13. Ensuring that the accounts of the company are prepared and submitted to the external auditors within four months after the end of the financial year.
  14. Maintaining equitable relationships between customers, coffee cooperatives, and other stakeholders.
  15. Serve as Secretary of the Board of Directors and coordinate all meetings of the Directors.
  16. To carry out any other duties as may be ordered by the Board of Directors.

1.3. Terms of Service

The General Manager will be employed under the terms of a three (3) year contract, renewable upon satisfactory performance.
