Maternity Africa operates from its Kivulini Maternity Centre outside the city of Arusha in Northern Tanzania.
About the role.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Biomedical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical equipment and a passion for ensuring patient safety. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of a range of medical equipment. You will also provide technical support to clinical staff including equipment maintenance training and participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of medical equipment, including imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, and laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment defects.
- Repair and test equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Provide technical support to clinical staff.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards.
- Any other necessary duties as assigned by the manager/general manager.
Qualifications and Certifications, Experience, and Skills Required.
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Biomedical Technician.
- Extensive knowledge of medical and electrical equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) will be an added advantage.How to Apply.
