Purpose of Work
The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, mowers, ginning machines, and vehicles, to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation. This role involves creating and implementing preventive maintenance schedules, managing spare parts and tools inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Workshop Manager will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support while ensuring budget compliance and cost effective operations. Additionally, this role requires effective collaboration with the field operations team, troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, managing relationships with vendors and suppliers, and driving continuous improvement in workshop processes.
Responsibilities of a Workshop Manager for a Hemp Production Farm:
- Manage Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all farm machinery, including tractors, mowers, gins, vehicles, and other farm equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventive Maintenance Schedule: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all machinery and equipment, ensure timely inspections and maintenance to avoid unexpected damage.
- Inventory Management: Track and control inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables required for workshop operations, ensuring adequate stock levels for smooth operation.
