November 2016 Grade 12 Exam Papers and Memos

The year-end examinations for Grade 12 learners have arrived. For many learners, this will be the final assessment before moving on to their higher education or career aspirations. The following are the exam papers and memos for November 2016.

Mathematics Paper 1

Memorandum:

    • Topics covered in the paper include: algebraic fractions, basic trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, measurement, analytic geometry and advanced trigonometric equations

 

    • Pay special attention to solving equations and inequalities as well as data handling

 

    • Be mindful of the time restrictions in place for each question and try to work quickly and accurately

 

Mathematics Paper 2

Memorandum:

    • This paper will focus on most of the same topics as Paper 1, but with more complex questions

 

    • Calculus will be used to solve the questions in this paper, such as indefinite and definite integration

 

    • The time restrictions will be much tighter for this paper, so it is important to work quickly and accurately

 

Physical Sciences Paper 1 & 2

Memorandum:

    • The papers will cover topics related to the chemical and physical sciences, such as kinetics, electricity and magnetism, chemical reactions, electrochemistry and nuclear reactions

 

    • Practical work and problem-solving are part of the syllabus and will be tested in the examination

 

    • Be mindful of the time limits for each question and ensure that answers are precise and accurate

The Matric exam papers and memos for the 2016 November examinations are finally here. Matrics across the country report for the South African matric examinations today and face their first exam in mathematics tomorrow, 18 October 2016.

The Education Department has released the November 2016 Matric examinations to the public. This year’s examinations will be conducted over a period of six weeks, starting from October 19th and concluding on December 6th.

The Education Department has issued advice to both students and parents on the preparation for the Grade 12 examinations. Students are advised to review their course material thoroughly and to make use of past examination papers and study guides to help them prepare.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to sit down with their children and discuss the upcoming examinations and review their course material together. They are also advised to remind their children to go to bed early and to eat healthily in the lead up to their exams.

The Department of Education has made certain that the examination papers and memos included in the Grade 12 examinations for 2016 were not only thorough and intimidating in their content, but also diverse enough to make the exams an interesting and challenging experience for the students.
