Youth Mentorship Opportunity at RTI October 2024

Written by julikenje

POSITION

USAID’s Conserve Natural Resources (“Conserve Natural Resources”) project that addresses trends that threaten habitat connectivity and the long-term sustainability of biodiversity in Tanzania is inviting on- and off-campus youth to apply for the first phase of the internship program. The project targets marginalized and often marginalized groups including youth and women. The involvement and empowerment of youth in the project as co-creators of solutions can significantly support efforts to find, protect, and develop wildlife movement corridors and promote the longevity and sustainability of interventions.

The USAID Conserve Natural Resources project has developed a Youth Mentoring Program that aims to connect, support, and inspire the next generation of conservationists interested in biodiversity conservation and natural resource management work. This year, the project will launch a mentoring program for young people in the Kwakuchitha Wildlife Connectivity area, Amani-Nilo Forest corridor, Ruaha Rungwa Inyonga Corridor, Ruaha Rungwa Katavi Corridor and Nyerere Selous Udzungwa Tembo Corridor. This program involves pairing mentors (young people with academic training and a passion for natural resource conservation and management) and mentors who are experts in the field.

Also, we encourage candidates who are interested in Natural Resource Management and Biodiversity Conservation (NRM) Policy to apply by stating in the application letter their interest in this field.
