1. About the Tanzania Institute of Education
Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) is a Government Institution under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, established under Law number 13 of 1975 (CAP 142 RE 2002). Its primary role is to translate Government policies on education into appropriate curricula, curriculum support materials, and programs aimed at facilitating the provision of quality education at the Primary, Primary, Secondary and Teacher education levels. The specific functions of TIE are:
(i) Designing, preparing and reviewing curricula for Primary, Primary, Secondary and Teacher Education levels;
(ii) Preparing curriculum support materials including textbooks, outlines and teachers’ guides;
(iii) Provide training for in-service teachers to enable teachers to implement the curriculum effectively and efficiently; and
(iv) Conducting research on various matters related to education including teaching and learning processes and the quality of education in general.
2. Position and Characteristics
2.1 Marketing Officer II: 6 positions
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business/Business Administration with specialization in Marketing, or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Market and promote TIE products to expand brand visibility and reach;
(ii) Identifying and targeting potential customers of TIE products;
(iii) Sell products related to TIE;
(iv) Providing important information about TIE products;
(v) Provide customers with accurate quotations;
(vi) Ensuring that sales are made to creditworthy customers and avoiding dealing with defaulters;
(vii) Monitor customer payments to ensure timely collection;
(viii) Collecting and sharing opinions about products that are performing well in the market and suggesting ways to improve them; and
(ix) Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Payment:
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the TIE Service Plan (PGSS 6.1).
3. General Terms
The applicant must:
(i) Be a citizen of Tanzania;
(ii) Attach an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) from trusted sources; postal address/postal code, email address, and telephone numbers;
(iii) Attach certified copies of:
(a) National Examination Certificates for Master’s Form/Degree/Higher Diploma/Form IV and VI;
(b) Certificates of Registration and Professional Training from Registration or Regulatory Bodies (where applicable);
(c) Birth certificate;
(d) INTENT.
(iv) Attach a recent Passport Size Photograph (in colour); and
(v) List three identifiable referees and their reliable contact information.
Note:
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Normal or Higher education should be verified by the Tanzania Examinations Council (NECTA). Additionally, professional certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by the Tanzania Universities Commission (TCU) and/or the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). Further, photocopies of Form IV and VI result documents, along with all testimonials and transcripts, are strictly unacceptable.
