The academy was founded in 2003 by African philanthropists Fred and Elizabeth Ejembi in response to the need for more professional and responsible leadership within the continent. It has since grown in size, offering programs for students from across the continent and the world and is now home to 800 students hailing from 51 African countries.
The core curriculum of the academy focuses on developing the academic, technological and entrepreneurial skills of its students to help equip them to be successful in their future endeavors. In addition, students are encouraged to develop their own personal leadership skills and tap into the power of collaboration to work together to make their visions a reality.
The Academy also features a wide range of extra-curricular activities, which include art and music courses, sports, and community initiatives. Most recently, the Academy established the “Africa Unite” initiative, which has instituted a series of programs to promote cross-cultural interaction and understanding among African youth.
