HESLB Loan Application Date 2022/23
The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) from Tanzania will open the application process for 2022/2023 loan cycle on January 10, 2022. The loan period for loan recipients will extend from the academic year 2022/2023 to 2027/2028.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the HESLB loan program, applicants must:

- Be a Tanzanian national and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN)

- Be a confirmed registration at a recognized Higher Learning Institution (HLI)

- Have qualified academic background

- Have a good moral character
-
- Not be an owner of any house

- Be younger than 45 years
How to Apply
To apply for the loan program, applicants must:

- Create an Account – Visit HESLB online portal and create an account.

- Fill out Form 4 – Login to your portal and fill out form 4.

- Upload important documents – Upload your academic documents and other important documents such as National Identity Card (NIC), Form IV, Form VI Certificates or equivalent, SSC and entry-level qualifications.

- Submit your application – Once you have uploaded all the necessary documents, submit your application.

Applicants are advised to take note of the following important dates:

- Selection meeting: April 22, 2023

- Selection results: May 15, 2023
HESLB Loan Application Date 2022
In the meantime, prospective loan applicants are advised to remain calm and begin preliminary preparations to prepare the necessary documents such as their birth certificates or death certificates of their parents certified by the Registration, Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA) and the Special Events Registration Agency Zanzibar (ZCSRA).
In addition, detailed information on the qualifications and procedures for applying for a loan for the year 2022/2023 will be available in the ‘Loan Guide for the year 2022/2023’ which will be available at www.heslb.go.tz from July 15, 2022.
The HESLB Online Portal will remain open for applications until the date specified above.
Applicants who are successful in the selection process will be notified via email and SMS, and will be able to access their loan disbursement information through their portal.
Good luck! The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has announced that the loan application period for 2022/23 academic year will start on Monday, 1st June 2021 and close by 1st December 2021.
The loan given by HESLB, allows eligible students to finance their studies through their Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). HESLB provides loan to Tanzanian students who have been admitted to degree, diploma and certificate programmes offered by registered public and private universities, colleges, and institutes.
The loan is also available for students with disadvantageous backgrounds. Such students include those from poor families and areas of Tanzania, female students, albinism and those living with disability.
According to a recent statement released by the HESLB, each applicant must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for the loan. This criteria includes the following:
– Applicant has to be a citizen of Tanzania by birth or descent.
– Applicant must have been admitted to a registered Higher Education Institution and must meet specific admission requirements.
– Applicant must have an acceptable pass in his/her secondary school (Form IV & VI) examinations as approved by the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
– Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
The announcement emphasized that all loan applicants must ensure that all documents necessary to process the loan application are in place before the submission deadline.
HESLB is encouraging prospective applicants to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the loan to enable them to pursue higher education even when finance is a barrier.
Therefore, all students who have been admitted to any of the registered Higher Education Institutions in Tanzania and meet the criteria outlined by HESLB, are encouraged to apply for the upcoming loan application period of 2022/23 by the specified deadline of 1st December 2021.
