The Zimsec A Level exam results for the year 2023 are set to be released at the beginning of March. This is a great opportunity for students to get an indication of their academic ability and to plan for the future. The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has released the results of the A Level examinations taken in the November/December 2023 examination period. ZIMSEC is the single awarding body in Zimbabwe for the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) which is a global leader in providing international education and qualifications.
The results are eagerly anticipated by all stakeholders in the education sector in Zimbabwe – from learners, to parents, to teachers and school administrators. The release of the results is an important event in the education calendar, as it marks the end of the school year for many students.
The ZIMSEC A Level results have been released with a pass rate of 96.5%. This is slightly higher than the previous year, which had a pass rate of 95.9%. This marks an improved performance in academic standards, with learners achieving better results than in the previous year. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the students and their teachers.
A breakdown of the results showed that more than half of the students achieved at least five ‘A’ Level passes, and 25.6% of the students achieved the highest distinction of seven ‘A’ Level passes.
In addition to the A Level examinations, ZIMSEC also administered the Ordinary Level examinations. Just under 83% of the students achieved a pass mark in the Ordinary Level Examinations.
The ZIMSEC A Level and ORD Examination results are accepted world-wide as proof of secondary school achievements, and will help many of the students to gain access to higher education and jobs.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education commended the students and expressed their hope that these results will spur higher levels of academic performance in future examinations. The hope is that students will achieve even better results in the last Examination period in December 2024.
We congratulate all learners who received ‘A’ Level results and wish them success in the future.
