Troubleshooting Roku No Sound Problem

Having no sound coming from your Roku can be a frustrating experience. However, it is important to stay calm and follow a few troubleshooting steps to try and get your sound to work.

Check Setting Volume

The first thing you should do is check your Roku system’s settings to make sure everything is set correctly.

    1. Go to the home screen and then navigate to the Settings menu.

    1. Go to the Audio section and make sure the correct Output Mode and Speaker type is selected.

    1. Check the volume level and increase it if necessary.

    1. Make sure the Mute option is not checked.

Check Connections

Sometimes the problem can be due to poor or loose connections so it is important to check all cables and ports.

    • Ensure that the HDMI cable is tightly and securely plugged into the HDMI port on the TV.

    • Check if the Roku device is firmly plugged into an electrical outlet.

    • Check for any loose cables or plugs.

    • Check the audio cables from the Roku to the TV.

Re-start or Reset the Device

If the above steps did not resolve the issue then it may be worthwhile to restart or reset your Roku device.

    1. Unplug the Roku device from the power outlet and wait for a few seconds.

    1. Reconnect the device to the power outlet and then wait for the Roku device to start again.

    1. If that also doesn’t help, you can try resetting the Roku device by pressing and holding the reset button located at the back of the device for 5 seconds.

    1. Once the device has been reset, try the sound again.

Sometimes there can be some kind of bug or issue with the device where even a restart or reset may not help. In this case it is a good idea to try rebooting the modem or router and then try the sound again.

Finally, if all else fails, contact Roku customer service for assistance.
