Now in its fifth year, the Form Five Selection is designed to provide an equal and fair pathway for all students to access education and pursue their dreams.

The selection process is conducted over a three-phase format, For students selected in this process, they will join a network of impactful and inspiring secondary school alumni

Iringa Region has recently released the latest Form Five Selection for the academic year 2023/2024. The long-awaited results were published on the 4th of June 2021. A grand total of 19,728 applicants were selected from a pool of 41,895 applicants, making this one of the largest selections of the year in the Iringa Region.

Applicants were selected from 26 schools within the region. The selected applicants were considered on basis of KCSE results, overall performance in the Board Examination as well as their personality and dedication to education. More than 90% of the selected candidates had a C+ average, which is an indication of good performance by the students.

The Deputy Director Education and Training Services of Iringa Region, Ms. Ndosi Mwevo, said that the selection committee had carefully gone through all applications, carried out interviews and revisited the earlier selection criteria before selecting the 19,728 candidates. She added that “We have selected the students that proved to us that they have the potential and commitment to do well in the higher learning institutions they are planned to be brought up in. We are confident that they will bring good quality education to the region.”

The selected applicants will be sent to more than 67 secondary schools throughout the Iringa Region for their Form Five studies. The government has offered these students various opportunities and commitments. This includes a safe learning environment, modern facilities, good teachers and experienced leadership.

The Ministry of Education is also offering special packages for the selected candidates that include two extra months of tuition fees and textbooks. In addition, the Ministry also plans to provide medical insurance for the selected students for their first semester in school.
