Position: Business Development Manager

Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nation Media Group (NMG), is Tanzania’s largest independent and award-winning media network in print and digital media. MCL is the leading publisher of national brands Mwananchi, The Citizen, and Mwanaspoti in print and digital formats. MCL is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to help drive digital and print revenue, grow customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities in the digital industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic plans, discuss timelines, and present findings or issues to management.
- Work closely with the sales team on print and digital media initiatives and programmatic opportunities.
- Stay informed on trends and developments in the digital industry to identify new business opportunities.
- Identify new monetization opportunities and create integrated concepts.
- Provide insights and market intelligence to identify gaps in the market and potential partnership opportunities.
- Build and grow relationships with decision makers and influencers within key clients and advertising agencies.
- Track new advertising and revenue opportunities, and create concepts in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Implement growth strategies and increase category spend share across digital platforms.
- Support partnership and acquisition discussions.
- Report on ad sales, impressions, and related metrics.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 2-3 years, with significant experience in a product role, preferably from a content, publishing, or media background.
