Job Purpose

The team combines internal knowledge, industry best practices and analytical thinking to create policies and strategies that allow the business to deliver industry leading results.
Job Purpose
Lead the Analytics function and take primary responsibility for ensuring that analytics/monitoring packages, MI, models, profitability and impairment measurement are properly managed, integrated to process compliance in line with policy guidelines.
Ensure Group reporting deadlines are met Manage the development of MI required by the core committees within the country Assess portfolio profitability, growth and risk on an ongoing basis Participate in forecasting and provide analysis required to make informed decisions Communicate, coordinate and provide various inputs and responses. , as required, on impairments, forecasting, MI and analytics to stakeholders Establish and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders in the business.
Key responsibilities and approximate time split
MI and Analytics Time Split: 50%
- Manage consistent and timely delivery of analytical support to reduce losses and increase profitability through Trend Analysis, Impairment Analysis, Account Management Analysis, Profitability Analysis, Stress Testing, Fraud Analysis, Collection Strategies and loss mitigation strategies Identify opportunities to reduce losses, improve revenue by building. new rules and strategies, collection strategies, cross-selling, selling models Identify new opportunities to enhance, streamline services through the use of advanced. analytics, automation and optimization Use of statistical tools and techniques such as – forecasting, segmentation, predictive analytics etc. Evaluate projects from a business perspective and demonstrate the value added of analytics across projects and discussions.
Model Time Share: 30%
- Ensure that all key models are understood and input into their development is provided Participate, review and challenge in workday meetings to determine month-end impairment forecasts and understand impairment driversEnsure all model issues are fully identified and addressed through regular engagement with relevant stakeholders, for example if model inputs appear to be missing or incorrect, this needs to be addressed and communicated to stakeholders.Manage monthly impairment processes to ensure adequate controls are in place. is maintained beyond impairmentEnsure that models are fit for business use and that they are monitored and tracked in accordance with policy.
Leadership Time Share: 20%
- Build a highly motivated team of credit analysts who maintain excellent relationships within your team and the wider business to ensure the achievement of business objectives. Consider team training and development needs and support the development and implementation of solutions. Ensure the development of best practice and succession plans for the Team. Encourage regular knowledge sharing among team members Conduct quarterly PD discussions with team members in accordance with PD guidelines Interview and hire new team members, including determining appropriate compensation levels. with input from Human Resources. Address any team member’s poor performance through a formal development program and ensure that ongoing poor performance is addressed appropriately. Motivate team members and ensure their efforts are recognized.
Risk and Control Objectives
Manage risks and controls appropriately by utilizing applicable risk frameworks and embedding a culture of Judgment and responsible risk management. Report all risk events / incidents / issues using the defined process for your business area and help to understand why these happened and how to prevent them in the future. Proactively look for ways to improve the control environment by considering what could go wrong in the processes you operate and how errors could be prevented.
