It’s that time of the year for Grade 10 students to start studying for their exams. It’s a crucial time for students to get the marks required to progress to the next level in their academic studies. To help students with preparation, the Department of Education have released the Final Exam Papers and Memos for 2020.
What are the Benefits of Exam Papers and Memos?
The exam papers and memos are a great resource for Grade 10 students. They help students gain a better understanding of the topics that will be tested during the exams. They also allow students to practice answering questions similar to what they may be asked during their exams. And, when studying for their exams, students are able to see what type of questions are likely to come up in the exams.
Where to Find the 2020 Exam Papers and Memos
The Grade 10 Exam Papers and Memos for 2020 can be accessed online via the Department of Education website. Here’s how:
- Step 1: Visit the Department of Education website: www.education.gov.za
- Step 2: Scroll down to the Resources section and click on ‘Exams’
- Step 3: Scroll down to the ‘National Exams’ section and click on ‘Grade 10’
- Step 4: Select the relevant Subject from the drop-down list
- Step 5: Click ‘Download Paper’ and the Exam Paper and Memo will download to your device
Grade 10 students can benefit from downloading the 2020 Exam Papers and Memos for their subjects. Having access to these resources will allow students to better prepare and equip themselves for their exams. The National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations for grade 10 students in South Africa are fast approaching. The 2020 Examination paper, together with the Explanatory Memorandum, will be released to all schools on the 3rd December 2019, including public and independent schools.
The 2020 Examination Papers and Explanatory Memorandums will always be available on the Department of Basic Education’s website, together with the Prescribed Study Guides for all subjects.
The 2020 Examination Papers and Explanatory Memorandums will provide clarity on the structure, language and expectations of the Examination Papers. The Explanatory Memorandum which is the key to success in understanding and tackling the Examination Paper will be available in the four official languages (English, Afrikaans, IsiNdebele and IsiXhosa). The Memorandum will serve as a useful reference document and give tips as to the length and approach to the written responses expected by the Assessment Officer. It is expected that learners will have a good understanding of the content outlined in the papers and be able to answer the questions accurately in the allocated time.
In addition, the Department of Basic Education has made available the National Senior Certificate Examination Mindset Learn Guides, which provides guidance and advice to learners on how to tackle the examination papers.
It is important that learners and their parents are aware of the rules of the Examination Papers and make sure their child reads the papers and the Explanatory Memorandum carefully in order to succeed and to ensure that the Examination runs smoothly.
The National Senior Certificate Examination will be conducted from the 17th February 2020 until the 14th March 2020 and it is expected that all participants, be it educators, learners or parents, will conduct themselves and their affairs in a manner that ensures that the Examination period is conducted with no disruptions or casualties.
