How to Build a Crane Grade 7 Step by Step

Doing a school project can be a daunting task, especially when constructing something as big and intricate as a crane. But don’t worry, you can successfully make a crane with some simple materials, these easy-to-follow steps, and a few helpful tips.

Materials:

    • 2 one-by-three boards (each 6 feet long)

    • 2 pipe clamps

    • 1 foot of PVC pipe

    • 1 wire hanger

    • 2 pieces of string

    • 2 paperclips

Step One: Build the Base

Begin by taking both boards and attaching them together at a 90° angle with the pipe clamps. Make sure each board is parallel to the other. This will be the crane’s base.

Step Two: Cut the PVC Pipe

Cut the PVC pipe into four pieces. Each piece should measure approximately 5 inches in length.

Step Three: Add PVC Pieces to the Base

Thread the PVC pieces onto the base, making a cross pattern in the middle of the boards. Make sure the pieces are evenly spaced and tight against the boards.

Step Four: Create the Arm

Take the wire hanger and straighten it out. Near the middle of the hanger, bend it into an elbow shape, extending one end outward. This will be the arm of the crane.

Step Five: Attach the Arm to the Base

Secure one end of the arm to the top of the base using one of the paperclips and the string. Make sure the arm is tight against the base.

Step Six: Rig the Arm

Thread the second piece of string through the elbow in the wire hanger and tie the ends together. This will be used to raise and lower the arm of the crane.

Step Seven: Add the Hook

Secure the other end of the wire hanger to the base of the crane using the second paperclip and the remaining string. This will act as the hook for picking up objects.

Congratulations! Your Crane is Now Complete!

Now that your crane is complete, you can proudly display it for your school project! As an added bonus, get the best PDF here and learn more crane building tips.
Good luck and have fun!

BE SOCIAL BY SHARING THIS POST WITH OTHERS! THANK YOU!! Building a crane for a school project is an exciting and creative way to learn about the science of engineering. Whether you are looking for a grade 7 project that challenges you with high-level problem solving or simply a fun project for the giggles of your students, this article will take you through the simple steps of constructing a paper crane.

Step 1: Begin by collecting the materials you need to build your crane. You will need paper, preferably heavy-grade card stock. In addition, you will need scissors and craft glue.

Step 2: Once you have obtained the necessary materials, you will need to cut out a set of squares with each side measuring eight centimetres. You can either fold or glue the edges together to form a triangle.

Step 3: With the triangle formed, the next step is to fold the ends into downwards with each side touching the base of the triangle. You will then need to fold each end inwards so that the bottom of the triangle overlaps the top.

Step 4: With the bottom of the triangle overlapped by the top, you will now need to fold the sides in. This should result in the shape of a double flying crane.

Step 5: Now, you are ready to glue the two parts of the crane together. Begin by adding a small blob of glue to the overlap on each side and then gently press down each part of the paper.

Step 6: This will now be the finished product of your paper crane. Although fairly simple, it adds an undeniable aesthetical value to any school project and is an excellent way to showcase your engineering prowess.

By following these 6 simple steps, you should be able to easily construct your paper crane and make sure your grade 7 school project stands out. With its unique design and skillful craftsmanship, this paper crane will definitely get you some well-deserved positive marks. Good luck!
